Ecclesiastical Insurance was founded in the United Kingdom in 1887 by statesmen and churchmen primarily to protect churches from the consequences of fire. Over the past 120 years, Ecclesiastical Insurance has grown and diversified — both in terms of geography and the scope of products and services offered. Today, in addition to the United Kingdom, Ecclesiastical operates in Canada and Ireland, and as ANSVAR in Australia and New Zealand, and serves the insurance needs of almost 200,000 customers.
